3 Ways To Keep Jesus In Your Child’s School Day

1. Pray with your child every morning. 

Getting ready for school each morning is hectic. Bring calm and peace into the chaos by pausing to pray before you send your child to school. It doesn’t need to be a long prayer. Pray for your child’s protection, that they would be the light of Christ wherever they go, and in thanksgiving for the opportunity to receive an education.  

2. Write scripture verses on their lunch box and backpack.  

Take a sharpie and write a simple Bible verse on the inside of their lunchbox and backpack. For kids just learning to read, “God is love” works great! You can also use post-it notes to send daily messages of affirmation and inspiration.  

3. Send them with the Saints.  

Talk about the saints and people of the Bible regularly with your child. Share their stories of hardships and triumphs. When your child faces a stressful situation during the school day, they can turn to these saints for advice and intercession. When we teach children about the saints, we give them a lifelong gift. These “friends” in heaven are willing and ready to come to help us when we need it most.
